About For-Lovers, LLC
For-Lovers LLC is an early stage startup developing a network of narrowly-targeted online communities designed to attract people who share a common "lifestyle passion", and enable them to share and explore that passion with other like-minded people. Our first community, ForScotchLovers.com, boasts thousands of members who are passionate about single malt Scotch Whisky. ForTequilaLovers.com, launched in August `09, hopes to attract countless thousands who are passionate about tequila, mezcal and sotol.
Lest you get the wrong impression, For-Lovers is not just about alcoholic beverages. In fact, of the hundreds of commonly branded "For_______Lovers" domains we own, only a handful are spirits-related. In the coming months, For-Lovers will launch many more online communities; from ForBluesLovers.com, ForWindSurfingLovers.com and ForSnowBoardingLovers.com to ForYogaLovers and ForScrapbookingLovers.com. Indeed, if you pick your passion and fill in the For______Lovers.com blank, there`s a good chance that`s a community we intend to launch.
Our mission at For-Lovers is to become the leading developer of these online "micro-communities." Ultimately, a For-Lovers network will be created with dozens if not hundreds of communities catering to a large and diverse cross section of the population.
The Job: For-Lovers Community Manager (3-6 month Internship)
As For-Lovers community manager you will be a core member of our leadership team. You will immediately have the ability to drive our overall direction for user acquisition, community development and maintenance, and social media engagement. You will be responsible for building upon our initial core user base. You will be the translator between us, our community of users, and other Spirits and Cocktail destinations online.
Responsibilities
- Lead the our communities by facilitating participation!
- Drive acquisition of new users via off-site recruiting initiatives
blogs
Facebook/myspace
email campaigns
offline events
- Drive growth in participation from current users
- Be the eyes, ears, and mouth in engaging with our community both on and off of our platform
- Help evolve our community guidelines and the methods and strategies to enforce them
- Work with the founders/executive management team to ensure community is functioning correctly technically, and that brand messaging is consistent
- Manage all our channels of communication (Outbound emails, Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace Etc)
- Network within the cocktail and spirits industry to various media outlets and bloggers
- Foster the communication between the members of our community, industry thought-leaders, and marketers
- Put out the fires before they start
- But if a fire starts, develop and execute a strategy on how to put them out
- Maintain relationships with industry “insiders” and leading spirits companies
- Foster/ drive partnerships with strategic cohorts
- Become proficient in establishing and tracking social media metrics
Commitment:
You must be willing to committ a MINIMUM of 20-hours/week to this internship, for a minimum of 3 months. The hours you work are entirely flexible.
The Long Term Opportunity: (Beginning in 6 months)
If you are successful, you will be given the opportunity to launch, and own a significant equity stake in, a For-Lovers community(s) that matches with a personal interest of your own. You will also be paid a base salary, to be negotaited at the time of your joining the company full time.
